| Description | The Ventura County CIT Program began in 2001 and is now a unique collaboration between the Five County Police Departments, the County Sheriff's Office, Ventura County Behavioral Health Department and the local Chapter of NAMI. Currently, 69% of patrol officers are CIT trained and 35% of dispatchers county wide are CIT trained. On board to the county wide CIT program are also the local Community Colleges, Universities, Military bases, CHP, and Probation Department. |
