Research and Systems
The Research and Systems classification includes descriptions of jail diversion strategies, an overview of how the CIT program functions, a review of Mental Health Courts, and evaluation of the training outcomes. CIT program history, as well as pre-tests and post-tests related to the effects of training are discussed within this section. The Research and Systems section helps officers understand how the program fits into the broader picture of diverting individuals living with mental illness from jail into available community services and care.
